Google announced today that on June 23rd Google Stadia will officially be supported on Chromecast with Google TV, not only that but Stadia will also be supported on select Android TV’s.
Last year Google announced the brand new Chromecast with Google TV, however, it wouldn’t support Stadia at launch, but it was promised that it would come in the first half of 2021 and while it took a while to arrive, it is finally here. Stadia will also be supported on a handful of Android TV and Google TV devices, you can check out the list below:
- Chromecast with Google TV
- Hisense® Android Smart TVs (U7G, U8G, U9G)
- Nvidia® Shield TV
- Nvidia® Shield TV Pro
- Onn™ FHD Streaming Stick and UHD Streaming Device
- Philips® 8215, 8505, and OLED 935/805 Series Android TVs
- Xiaomi® Mi Box 3 and Mi Box 4
Now the list above is officially supported device, however, if your Android TV device isn’t included, fear not as Google is allowing experimental mode, which we have seen before on the mobile app with certain mobile devices. Well this will allow gameplay from unsupported TVs.
