Google Nest Wi-Fi has become an innovation by Google to help support Wi-Fi in homes where routers could become problematic for coverage. In an article from 9to5google, they found in a tear down of the APK files of the Nest Wi-Fi update; soon Nest Wi-Fi will have an option for “gaming prioritization.”
For Stadia users this could be very significant. The idea of having a mode that prioritizes your Stadia connection above other connections in the household could mean that you get more consistent picture clarity and gaming speed. “Gaming preferred” will make sure to help games stay “optimized for devices such as Stadia.”
9to5google also gives these directions on their website to enable this mode through your Nest Wi-Fi:
- Open the Google Home app Google Home app.
- Choose Wi-Fi .
- Select Settings Nest settings icon in the top corner.
- Toggle “Gaming preferred” on Toggle switch or off Nest Wifi’s new ‘Gaming preferred’ prioritization for Google Stadia detailed.
