Games That Need To Come To Google Stadia

This is our list of games that need to come to Google Stadia.

These are the top games that need to come to Google Stadia

Google stadia is now 6 months old, now while Google has done there best to add features that have been missing since launch. This article is mainly about the games that are needed in order to grow Google Stadia.

Now love or hate these games, they are games which we believe will bring the most amount of players to Google Stadia. So before we begin, let’s just say Stadia’s game library has been growing steadily since launch, but it is still lacking those big AAA games that have millions of players.

Now you may be asking well if someone can play these games on their other consoles why would they get it on Stadia, well first of all Stadia has no downloads, meaning you never have to download any game patches. Thanks to Stadia i now hate going back to my PS4 just for the fact that i am going to have to download a lot of updates.

Secondly, with Stadia, you can play these games anywhere as you can play Stadia on your TV via the Chromecast, Via the web browser, and on any supported mobile devices (which is slowly starting to expand).

Thirdly, For Stadia you don’t need to buy an expensive console, it is as simple as going to the Stadia website and just signing up. Especially now, as Google is offering 2 months free pro tier. so there is no better time to sign up. With the free pro tier, you will also get access to a bunch of pro games.

Now if these games we mention were to come to Stadia, they would need cross-play as well as cross-progression, which is something Google Stadia supports but is down to the developers to enable. So without further ado, let’s begin.

Call Of Duty Warzone

Call Of Duty Warzone is such a massive game and has surpassed way over 15 million players, now that is a huge amount of players that could easily be brought over to Google Stadia just by adding this game.

With the likes of PUBG recently coming over to Google Stadia, it would be nice to see other Battle Royale games come to Stadia.

Now if this game was to come over to Google Stadia, this is where Google would need to change their business model, in the sense that this game shouldn’t be a pro subscriber game. As this is where you would lose a lot of players, As in order to play the game they would need to continue paying for Stadia pro, even though they can play the game for free on other consoles. So Google needs to allow free games on the free tier of Stadia.

Fortnite is one of the biggest games in the world, with them doing so many things that attract a big player base, such as the recent Travis Scott Concert which pulled in 12.3 million concurrent players. Which is just an insane amount of players. Now while you can play this game on mobile, with Stadia you will be able to play i on your mobile with console graphics.

Now this game could be a while away as Epic CEO, Tim Sweeney, has already stated that he is in full support of Nvidia’s Geforce Now due to the fact that it is “publisher-friendly of the major streaming services, with zero tax on game revenue.”

However, for companies it is a matter of making a profit so when Stadia continues to grow and grows its player base, Epic Games will see the potential in bringing Fortnite to Google Stadia. Especially how recently they released Fortnite on the Google Play Store something which they bypassed before to increase revenue.

Although GTA V is 7 years old it has continued to hold its player base, with it having 239,774 players playing it within the last 24 hours according to Steam Charts. Now, this is just the Steam concurrent players. So if you were to add all the other consoles you are looking at a lot of players.

Now Rockstar has supported Google Stadia by bringing Red Dead Redemption 2 over to Stadia, so hopefully, they see good revenue from Stadia and decide to port GTA V over to Stadia.

Minecraft is such a huge game, which is released on every platform out there. Now back in November 2019, the game saw the player count reach 480 million players, now in an interview with Business Insider Mojang studio head, Helen Chiang stating the game has around 112 million monthly active players.

“What we find is that it’s a game that players keep coming back to,” says Chiang. “It may not always be the one that’s in the forefront, because there are a lot of great games that continue to come out, but it’s one that they love to return to.”

This is a huge amount of players, for a game that is 11 years old. Now imagine if this game was on Stadia it would bring so many players over just because Minecraft is on there. Down below is the official Minecraft trailer:

Apex Legends

Apex Legends is another big game that needs to come to Google Stadia, now about 3 weeks ago during the Stadia connect we got the announcement that 5 EA games were coming to Google Stadia, however, we only got told about 3 games these being Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, FIFA 20, and Madden NFL. With the other 2 games being announced later this year.

So could one of these games be Apex Legends? who knows, we are hoping it is as Apex Legends near the end of last year hit 70 million players.

Now, unfortunately, Respawn Producer, Drew McCoy, went over how streaming services were not well suited for Apex Legends, as the company has worked hard to reduce input lag, and streaming adds it right back in.

“We tested a lot of streaming solutions in the last five or six years. For the kinds of games we make, I don’t think they’re well suited,”

Although as Stadia continue to grow and get better, we could see Apex Legends get added later on as we saw with Doom Eternal were that had input lag but they recently released an update that improved the input lag. Meaning it wasn’t really a stadia issue. You can see the results for Doom Eternal input lag before and after the patch. Now while with any streaming service like Google Stadia, there will always be input lag, this is inevitable, but if it is so small to the point you can hardly tell, then there is nothing to worry about.

Overwatch/Overwatch 2

Last year we got the announcement that Overwatch 2 is being worked on. Now we know for a fact that it will come to the next-gen consoles.

However, there was no mention of it coming to Google Stadia, but when Overwatch 2 was announced. Google Stadia had pretty much only just launched and let’s just say didn’t have the best of launches, so this would have put developers off.

Now the Google team have been working on fixing all the issues for Stadia and continue to add more features, developers should take another look at Stadia and see if their game would be a good fit for the platform and we believe Overwatch would be an amazing fit for the platform.

Now when Geforce Now released a week later Activision pulled all there games of the service, which pointed towards a partnership with Stadia. but this turned out to be false, the reason Activision pulled there games from GeForce Now was due to a misunderstanding between the two companies.

Now Blizzard has confirmed that Overwatch 2 is coming to Switch, so we see no reason as to why it can not come to Stadia. Now although people say Overwatch is dying, hell people say that about every game. But regardless it has a huge player base who are dedicated to the game.

This list is just some of the games we believe should come to Google Stadia, due to the number of players they have as well as a lot of the games we listed above have such a competitive scene meaning these players are dedicated.

There are plenty of games we would love to see come to Stadia. But in terms of increasing the Stadia player base, these are the ones.
